Jeremy Marcus brings over 25 years of tech and telecommunications experience to Lerman Senter. Jeremy’s practice focuses on a broad array of information communications and technology issues, including in the firm’s broadband, spectrum, and communications infrastructure; satellite; and privacy, data protection, and cybersecurity practices. In particular, Jeremy brings his years of leadership in the Federal Communications Commission’s Enforcement Bureau to bear across the firm’s practice areas and clients.
Prior to joining Lerman Senter, Jeremy spent over 20 years in federal service, spanning leadership roles in three FCC Bureaus, as well as serving a detail to the White House Office of Management and Budget to work on spectrum auction matters. Most recently, he served as Deputy Chief of the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau, overseeing the Bureau’s Spectrum Enforcement Division and Office of the Field Director. In that role, Jeremy managed the Bureau's efforts to combat unauthorized spectrum use, as well as a range of telecommunications and national security matters, including drones, pirate radio, space debris, 911 outages and cybersecurity. He oversaw the agency’s largest ever settlement, over a matter involving spectrum warehousing.
Prior to working in the FCC Enforcement Bureau front office, Jeremy represented OMB on an interagency panel responsible for reviewing federal agency spectrum transition plans related to the FCC’s $40 billion AWS-3 auction. Jeremy also served as Associate Chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau’s Broadband Division, where he managed efforts to make mid-band spectrum available for mobile broadband use. He also served as Associate Chief in the Wireline Competition Bureau and Chief of WCB’s Telecommunications Access Policy Division, where he oversaw universal service policy and programs.
Before joining the FCC, Jeremy worked in law firms in Washington, DC, and Atlanta, GA, representing start-up communications companies, as well as in-house for MCI Telecommunications Corp.
