Deadline Watch - Broadband Data Collection Filings are Due September 1, 2026

The FCC requires common carriers, broadband providers, interconnected VoIP and mobile service providers to contribute to the ongoing Broadband Data Collection (BDC) with biannual data submissions reporting broadband availability and other data. Data as of June 30, 2026, is due no later than September 1, 2026, by the following filers:

    • Facilities-based providers of fixed and/or mobile broadband internet access
    • Providers of fixed voice services, including incumbent local exchange carriers and competitive local exchange carriers
    • Interconnected voice over internet protocol (VoIP) providers
    • Facilities-based providers of mobile voice service

Each filing must include information about the filer, and depending on the type of filer, broadband availability, broadband subscription, voice availability, and/or voice subscription data.

Filers must submit data in the BDC system either via file upload or web form. The FCC has provided a BDC System User Guide to assist in the submission process.

If you have questions about your BDC obligations, refer to the BDC Help Center or contact an attorney in our Broadband, Spectrum, and Communications Infrastructure Practice Group.
