Erin Kim advises media and other telecommunications clients on transactional and FCC regulatory matters. She designs and structures deals to comply with both business and regulatory objectives, drafts and negotiates transaction agreements, and leads clients through the regulatory approval processes. Erin also regularly assists clients with FCC licensing and compliance matters.
Erin works closely with client executives, general managers, engineers, and others on network affiliation agreements, local marketing agreements, shared services agreements, and other agreements. She also regularly advises clients on ownership structures and compliance with the FCC’s rules.
Erin has a deep understanding of the media industry. Her interest in media and telecommunications started as an undergraduate student where she had a concentration in Mass Communications, and has deepened as she has engaged with the FCC and worked with a wide variety of industry clients over the past fifteen years.
Erin, a Florida native, graduated with highest honors from the University of Florida and earned her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown, she interned at the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, served as Writing Program Director for the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy, and worked as an intern at the FCC in Chairman Michael Powell’s office.
