Brett Heather Freedson

Brett Heather Freedson is an advocate and advisor to utility companies, with expertise in infrastructure-related matters including pole attachments and collocation. Brett has represented utility companies before federal courts of appeal, and in formal complaint and policy proceedings before the FCC and state public service commissions. She also served as outside FCC counsel to a coalition of electric utility industry associations.

Additionally, Brett advises infrastructure providers on transactional and regulatory matters critical to the deployment of broadband and 5G. In the wireless space, Brett has represented clients in the purchase and sale of spectrum, and has advised on complex business transactions involving wireless and other FCC-regulated assets. Brett also advises clients in a multitude of industries on TCPA and TSR compliance issues.

Brett strives first and foremost to provide business-minded solutions to her clients. She adds value by taking the time to understand all aspects of her clients’ businesses, and draws upon her years of experience to offer strategic and forward-looking advice. Brett is regular speaker at industry events, including those sponsored by UTC and the Heartland Joint Use Group, and participates regularly in industry association work groups on FCC initiatives.

Brett started her career in the Washington D.C. office of a New York-based law firm, where she represented competitive telecommunications carriers in various federal and state proceedings to implement the 1996 Act. Her early experience provided her with a meaningful understanding of communications businesses, and helped shape her collaborative approach to broadband and 5G deployment issues.
