ETRS Form 3 Must Be Filed By November 14, 2016

On September 28, 2016, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) conducted a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS). As we previously reported here and here, broadcast stations are required to complete certain filings in the EAS Test Reporting System (ETRS) related to the nationwide EAS test. ByMonday, November 14, 2016, all broadcast stations must complete Form 3, the last of these ETRS filings. Form 3 provides the FCC and FEMA with detailed information about each station’s receipt of the national alert, including any difficulties a station had receiving or passing along the national EAS alert during the test.

Stations can access ETRS here. To complete Form 3, stations will need the same log-in information used to complete Form 1 and Form 2.

If you need assistance completing your Form 3, please contact any of the attorneys in our office.
