Philip Bonomo’s practice focuses on regulatory compliance issues affecting the broadcast and satellite industries. He prepares license applications, drafts comments in rulemaking proceedings, responds to enforcement inquiries, and otherwise represents clients in a wide variety of regulatory issues before the FCC and other federal agencies. Phil also has extensive experience managing the day-to-day legal needs of clients, having served as de facto in-house counsel for two major broadcast companies while at Lerman Senter. He handles a full spectrum of client issues, including contract negotiations, employment counseling, and intellectual property support.
Phil has had a lifelong fascination with the mass media and how it shapes and informs public opinion. It was perhaps inevitable that his undergraduate training in journalism and graduate training in law led to a career as a communications attorney. Phil graduated with honors from Georgetown University Law Center where, among other honors, he received recognition as the top legal researcher and writer in his class. He joined Lerman Senter while a law student, and has called the firm his home ever since. Prior to becoming an attorney, Phil worked as a marketing and communications professional for a variety of organizations, from major corporations to non-profits.
