Carmel Amero joined Lerman Senter’s Broadcast and Media practice group after graduating from The George Washington University Law School in 2020.
While in law school, Carmel studied information privacy law and internet law as part of a summer intellectual property program in Munich, Germany. She also served as an Associate Editor for the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal and was an active member of GW’s Black Law Student Association, the Pro Bono and Public Interest Group, and the Evening Law Student Association. Carmel was a part-time evening student who also worked as a full-time paralegal.
Carmel actively participates in community service projects in the Washington, D.C. area. She was a student attorney with the Rising for Justice law clinic representing low-income clients charged with misdemeanor offenses in the District of Columbia. Carmel also volunteered with the Family Law Pro Bono Project providing information and assistance to pro se litigants in D.C. Superior Court.
