Erin Kim specializes in assisting broadcast and mass media clients with transactional and regulatory matters. Her clients include small local broadcasters as well as large, publicly traded mass media companies.
Ms. Kim has substantial experience handling all aspects of complex broadcast transactions. She has worked on acquisitions and divestitures ranging in scope and value from hundreds of thousands of dollars to multiple millions of dollars. She designs and structures deals to comply with both business and regulatory objectives, drafts and negotiates purchase agreements and closing documents and guides clients through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulatory approval processes. She also works closely with executives, general managers, engineers and other personnel to address the business and operational issues that may be implicated by a transaction. In addition, Ms. Kim represents clients in negotiating and drafting operational arrangements, such as network affiliation agreements, local marketing and programming agreements and advertising representation agreements.

Ms. Kim graduated with highest honors from the University of Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a minor concentration in Mass Communications, and earned her Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown, she interned at the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts, served as Writing Program Director for the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy and worked as an intern at the FCC in Chairman Michael Powell’s office.
