Lerman Senter attorneys Kevin Cookler and David Rines will be attending the 2017 UTC Telecom & Technology Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina the week of May 8, 2017, where they will be speaking on multiple topics affecting utility communications and rural broadband services.
On Tuesday, May 9, David will be a panelist at the Outage Restoration Summit, which will address new technologies, techniques, and strategies for restoration of utility and communications services after storms, floods, fires, accidents, and other disasters. On Wednesday, May 10, David will speak at a session entitled “Future of Utility Asset Utilization – What is Changing with Regulations?” where he will discuss current regulatory and legislative issues in joint use and collocation, including the FCC’s latest proposals on pole attachments.
Kevin will participate in the Wireless Workshop on Tuesday, May 9, where he will speak on tower siting issues for new communications facilities and collocations and provide an update on FAA and FCC tower marking and lighting requirements. On Wednesday, May 10, Kevin will serve as a panelist for a session entitled “Regulatory Issues When Providing Broadband Services,” where he will discuss the various legal and regulatory issues involved when becoming a broadband service provider and the ways in which these issues can be effectively managed.
