Lerman Senter’s broadband practice encompasses spectrum policy, transactions, licensing and enforcement matters before the FCC and other federal regulatory agencies.
Our attorneys are at the forefront of FCC proceedings that will help shape the future of spectrum policy. The firm represents clients that actively participate in FCC, NTIA and USDA rulemaking proceedings to improve broadband access and spectrum opportunities, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Firm attorneys were influential in obtaining key language in the 2012 Spectrum Act that significantly affects broadband access.
We have led and participated in numerous transactions that have enabled our broadband operator and electric utility clients to obtain access to spectrum. Our attorneys are skilled in structuring transactions that take advantage of, or avoid, certain regulations. Through these acquisitions and leases, our clients have significantly expanded their businesses, entered new markets, enabled educational opportunities and reduced costs. We also have prepared and negotiated hotspot agreements, IRUs, interconnection agreements and other bandwidth arrangements.
Firm attorneys have advised clients on FCC auctions, assisting them to obtain valuable new licenses. We also routinely prepare and prosecute applications at the FCC and advise clients on compliance with technical and operating regulations. We also represent clients in FCC enforcement actions.
