NATIONWIDE EAS TEST TO LAST

The FCC today announced that the nationwide Emergency Alert System (“EAS”) test scheduled for Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 2:00p.m. Eastern Standard Time will last 30 seconds and not the two and one-half minutes originally proposed.  The Public Notice announcing the new test length is available here.  A revised Nationwide EAS Test Handbook reflecting the new test length is available here.
